We miss "100 Days My Prince" so much. Judy and Teresa tried to distract themselves with these other fall dramas, which are frankly disappointing. Prepare yourself for much ranting.

6:04 - "Heart Surgeons" (흉부외과) is an SBS medical drama starring Go Soo, Uhm KiJoon and Seo JiHye (Sharon from "Black Knight"!). Teresa likes medical dramas, but couldn't really get into this one. Judy finds the two male characters lacking in charisma, but might watch a bit more of it, just to see how Seo JiHye will be, once she actually shows up.

29:15 - "Room No. 9" (나인룸) is a surreal TVN production starring Kim HeeSun, Kim YoungKwang and Kim HaeSook. Judy, surprisingly, does not like this particular evil power-hungry woman portrayed by Kim HeeSun. Teresa theorizes that this whole drama is a dream. How are all these characters so intimately linked to one another?

47:45 - "Where Stars Land" (여우각시별) is another SBS drama and stars Lee JeHoon, Lee DongGun (both featured in Judy's list of "Bottom 3 actors" in KDMEO Episode 50) and Chae SooBin. This drama completely turned us off with its annoying characters and the disgustingly inaccurate portrayal of mental illness. Enough said.

Some Korean terms:

풀: [pool] grass.

Obligatory shoe-buying! Judy and Teresa facepalm their way through episodes 7-8 of “100 Days My Prince” (100일의 낭군님), a TVN drama starring Do KyungSoo (D.O. from EXO) and Nam JiHyun.

What's happened that all the villainous characters this week? The Queen (Oh YeonAh) acts like her talisman is super well-hidden, but it turns out to be pretty lame. Lord Park (Ahn Seok-Hwan) is doing some wacky nonsense, like standing next to a target and giving Wondeuk/Crown Prince (Do KyungSoo) a bow and arrow. Left State Councillor (Jo SungHa) is counting his chickens too early by revealing the Crown Princess' (Han SoHee) pregnancy before confirming that the Crown Prince is dead, contrary to his previous affirmation? Judy and Teresa are available if any budding evil overlords are looking for key strategists to add to their team.

Digressions:

4:29 - The "Mission: Impossible" series

1:06:18 - Video games are educational, we swear!

Some Korean terms:

석고대죄: [seok-go-deh-jweh] an act of contrition by a guilty person; one strips down to underclothing, lets loose their hair and waits on a straw mat to receive punishment. This is frequently shown in Korean historical dramas, but there aren't that many recorded instances in historical records.

개: [geh] older Korean term for "fake".

개: [geh] dog.

필: [pil] bolt (of fabric).

제: [jeh] formal "I", "my".

내: [neh] informal "I", "my"; this is the form Left State Councillor uses when he's talking to the King. Technically, he should be using "신" [shin], which is what noblemen use to refer to themselves in front of royalty.

Larry Mullen & Adam Clayton - Mission: Impossible (1996) - "Theme from Mission: Impossible"

Johnny Mercer - Robin Hood (1973) - "The Phony King of England"

Mark Snow - The X-Files - "The X-Files"

Quel scandale! Judy and Teresa got tipsy and sassy about episodes 5-6 of “100 Days My Prince” (100일의 낭군님), a TVN drama starring Do KyungSoo (D.O. from EXO) and Nam JiHyun.

Teresa is incredulous at Eunuch Yang's (Jo HyunSik) naivete when he's in such a dire situation with the Left State Councillor (Jo SungHa). Judy hopes that the Wondeuk/Crown Prince's (Do KyungSoo) riddle will make sense for non-Korean speakers when Investigator (Kim SeonHo) finally solves it. The most touching scene this week was the reunion between Hongshim (Nam JiHyun) and her assassin brother (Kim JaeYoung).

Judy and Teresa desperately need nicknames for a whole bunch of characters, like the Left State Councillor, Hongshim's best friend's husband (Kim KiDoo) and Investigator's brother/Queen's Conspirator (Kang YoungSeok). If you have any good suggestions, please let us know!

Digressions:

1:36 - Judy is in the thick of "Mister Sunshine"

2:39 - Teresa finished Season 1 of "Dear White People"

3:03 - Friends of the Podcast - Kevin Wilks-Lau and Victor Cheng piano duo - Check out Kevin's Youtube channel!

Some Korean terms:

기생:  [gi-seng] Korean term for "geisha"; female entertainer.

새끼: [se-kki] rope.

새끼: [se-kki] bastard; son of a bitch.

Madame Etiquette is back! Judy and Teresa are full of conjecture about episodes 3-4 of “100 Days My Prince” (100일의 낭군님), a TVN drama starring Do KyungSoo (D.O. from EXO) and Nam JiHyun.

We are not neurologists or psychologists, but is it possible for an amnesiac to recognize the source of fancy fabrics at a glance and yet not remember the basic workings of commerce? We need Wondeuk/Crown Prince (Do KyungSoo) to become more likable immediately. Why does Hongshim (Nam JiHyun) get so emotional when she's telling Wondeuk/Crown Prince about their courtship, which she completely made up? This drama is doing that wonky gravity thing, like in "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?", where people fall on top of each other in ways that make no physical sense.

Digressions:

0:33 - Judy's new self-care routine

3:08 - Judy has finally finished "Lawless Lawyer"

4:19 - Teresa has given up on "The Client List" (the Lifetime drama starring Jennifer Love Hewitt). If you want to read a super funny synopsis of the Lifetime original movie, here is the Fug Girls link!

5:53 - Listener E-mails!

Some Korean terms:

기생: [gi-seng] Korean term for "geisha"; female entertainer.

푼: [poon] smallest unit of Joseon money; 100 poon = 1 nyang. Of note, Hongshim says that the 30 nyang that Wondeuk took from the loan shark is enough to buy a house.

How dare you not have an archery contest after that setup? Judy and Teresa are loving the plot intricacies in episode 2 of “100 Days My Prince” (100일의 낭군님), a TVN drama starring Do KyungSoo (D.O. from EXO) and Nam JiHyun.

Judy and Teresa are perturbed by the advances of Investigator Jong Jaeyoon (Kim SunHo) on the moonlit bridge. Just ask any woman if they enjoy being accosted by a cop in the middle of the night and being manhandled for no reason. It's positively charming. Judy enjoys that the female characters, even the villainous ones, have personal motivations and take actions towards their goals.

Digressions:

0:46 - Teresa watched more of "Devilish Joy"

3:05 - Judy is almost done watching "Lawless Lawyer"

5:10 - Judy and Robert watched "Coco"

6:00 - Sandra Oh was nominated for an Emmy!

Audio credits:

Mel Brooks - Robin Hood: Men in Tights - "Men In Tights"

Daniwell-Aidn - "Nyan Cat"

Quincy Jones - Kill Bill Vol. 1 - "Ironside"
