Prepare yourselves for all of the feels! It's Judy and Teresa's special episode of the critically acclaimed TVN series, “Mother” (마더), starring Lee BoYoung, Heo Yool and Lee HyeYoung.

This entire episode is full of spoilers, so if you haven't watched "Mother" yet, grab some kleenex and do it already!

Teresa could see plot twists coming from a mile away but still found them intriguing. Judy revels in the melodrama, which allows her to be thankful for the lack of drama in her own life. As beautiful and well-crafted as this drama was, it could not escape from the Penultimate Week Curse. *shake fist*

Next week, we'll be releasing a "First Impressions" episode featuring "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?", "The Undateables", "About Time" and "Lawless Lawyer". Which one will we pick?

Were there jokes this week? Judy and Teresa cackle in disbelief at episodes 19-20 of “Go Go Waikiki” (으라차차 와이키키), a JTBC drama starring Kim JungHyun, Lee YiKyung, Song SeungWon, Jung InSun, Go WonHee and Lee JooWoo.

Judy mourns the loss of Hyunjoon (Kang KyungJoon), who was replaced (?!?!) by the blandest love rival, "Sol's dad", whose name we can't even be bothered to look up. Teresa just wants Donggoo (Kim JungHyun) to GTFO already and go to Dubai.

Next week, we will be doing a special episode about "Mother" starring Lee BoYoung and Heo Yool. Then we have a "First Impressions" episode featuring "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?", "The Undateables", "About Time" and "Lawless Lawyer".

Digressions:

9:48 - David's interesting fashion choices for videogame characters

21:02 - Another one of Judy's secrets revealed!

Some Korean terms:

봉산탈춤: [bong-san-tal-choom] a traditional Korean masked dance; dancers have long white sleeves which inspires Sooah; click here to watch a clip of this dance!

우유빛깔: [oo-yoo-bit-kkal] literally "milky colour"; one uses this as a prefix to celebrity names as chants to praise their clear skin; for example, Judy might yell out "우유빛깔 박서준!" if she saw Park SeoJoon in the street.

Sound the Penultimate Week alarm! Judy and Teresa are absolutely exhausted by episodes 17-18 of “Go Go Waikiki” (으라차차 와이키키), a JTBC drama starring Kim JungHyun, Lee YiKyung, Song SeungWon, Jung InSun, Go WonHee and Lee JooWoo.

Judy defies anyone to tell her that they feel love when they're watching Yoonah (Jung InSun) and Donggoo (Kim JungHyun) on the screen together. Teresa is extremely tired during recording, probably from rolling her eyes so hard. For Judy, the one bright point in these two episodes was being reminded of '90s NBC sitcom, "Frasier" and wishing she could be watching that instead. Who could have foreseen that Sooah (Lee JooWoo) and Doosik (Song SeungWon) would end up being our favourite couple?

When we're done talking about "Go Go Waikiki", we will be doing a special episode about "Mother" starring Lee BoYoung and Heo Yool. Then we have a "First Impressions" episode featuring "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?", "The Undateables", "About Time" and "Lawless Lawyer". Contact us if you have any preferences!

Digressions:

12:15 - Our fear of bodily fluids

17:59 - Don't read reddit late at night

42:17 - Public confessions, yay or nay

Some Korean terms:

아빠: [a-ppa] "daddy".

진주: [jin-joo] pearl.

미간 좀 펴: [mi-gan-jom-pyeo]

Audio credits:

Elton John – Lion King – “Can You Feel The Love Tonight”

"Frasier" Season 2,  Episode 21 – “An Affair to Forget”

Bernard Herrmann – Vertigo - "Vertigo Theme"

Judy and Teresa are vexed by episodes 15-16 of “Go Go Waikiki” (으라차차 와이키키), a JTBC drama starring Kim JungHyun, Lee YiKyung, Song SeungWon, Jung InSun, Go WonHee and Lee JooWoo.

How is Donggoo (Kim JungHyun) the main character? How and why do his housemates endure his self-absorbed antics? Why does Yoonah (Jung InSun) like him? Teresa suggests that Yoonah is so bland because she’s supposed to be a Mary-Sue character and Judy is tremendously irritated. Is Yoonah so without personal motivation that Hyunjoon (Kang KyungJoon) has to tell her that she likes Donggoo and there's a montage that's supposed to prove this?

Here's a clip from "Community" season 2 episode, "Paradigms of Human Memory", which shows montages can be manipulated to work for anybody:

Digressions:

18:00 - Korean makgeolli will mess you up

19:30 - Arrested Development

30:04 - The fine art of kimchi stew

35:44 - We speculate which video game Joonki is playing

51:55 - Judy loves when people join the dark side

Some Korean terms:

막걸리: [mak-geol-li] Korean rice wine.

눈치: [noon-chi] a combination of "tact" and "situation awareness"; to be lacking in "눈치" is an insult.

Audio credits:

Ha DongGyun (하동균) – "Butterfly" (나비야)

Maury Laws - The Return of the King (1980) – “Where There’s a Whip, There’s a Way”

Righteous Brothers – “Unchained Melody”
